Mason Munn official announcement made by Rangers after Friday development
Rangers announce Mason Munn and Callum Burnside call-ups to the Northern Ireland U21s squad
Rangers, via their official academy account on X, announced on Friday that both Munn and Callum Burnside have been called up to the Northern Ireland Under-21s squad.
The Northern Irish outfit will be competing in international friendlies over the coming days before the players leave for their end-of-season break.
Thus far, Munn has made just one appearance for the Under-21s side, which came against the Uzbekistan Under-21s team back in March.
How much should Rangers demand for Oliver Antman?
He is a man in demand this summer…
What have you seen from Antman that makes you think he’ll do well? He’s been extremely frustrating each time I’ve seen him. Definitely not someone you’d want starting regularly if you plan to win the title.
I actually think Oliver should stay at rangers playing on the left with Tuur. What a duo they could be. Antman and Rommen, they have shown they could make a great partnership, attacking up the left. High hopes next season, Come on 26/27
“celtic always get a result against yas in a meaningful game” Your words not mine gerry. Maybe you should think before running your mouth off. Although, I doubt thinking is your forte. (yas)??? 🤔🤣🤣
It proved to be a fruitful game for the 20-year-old as he kept a clean sheet en route to his side’s 1-0 victory.
With him being called up again, it remains to be seen if he is handed starts or is the second-choice stopper.
Burnside, on the other hand, is yet to make his Under-21s international debut, so this could be the ideal occasion for him to do so.
What does the future hold for Munn at Ibrox?
As Munn is highly rated at Rangers, the club would want to ensure that he continues developing at a rapid rate.
Regular senior minutes are paramount in achieving that goal, so he could be loaned out for another season.
Munn is not yet ready to be a challenger for the number one jersey and is not even at Liam Kelly’s level.
The 20-year-old is now getting much-needed international recognition, and fans will hope that he has a standout campaign, possibly in Scotland’s second tier.
There is a good chance that Danny Rohl has him part of the pre-season training squad, where he can pick up a few things from the senior players before joining another club on loan until the end of the campaign.
