Rangers ready to open talks and table bid for Luke Graham

Rangers are set to make major strides to seal the transfer of Graham and are now prepared to make a bid, according to the Daily Record.

The Light Blues will also open talks with Dundee to gauge their feelings over a summer sale and what it would take to prise him away from Dens Park.

Not only does he have interest from Europe, but there are also American teams willing to take a punt on Graham, who is not short on suitors.

He is expected to cost over £1.5m as that was the amount that Dundee turned down in January, with Portsmouth tabling a bid.

If Graham signs, he will partner Emmanuel Fernandez at the heart of the Rangers defence.

It offers the backline a natural left/right dynamic, which will see them building out from the back quicker.

While Fernandez can offer the advantage of winning aerial duels as he is taller than Graham, the latter is much better when it comes to ground duels, and that balances things out perfectly.

The Rangers defender also likes to step up and engage with opposition attackers higher up the pitch, while the Dundee centre-back is someone who likes to be more disciplined with his positioning and could thus play the role of a sweeper.
