Ex FIFA official Mark Clattenburg reacts to what he heard about Rangers plans to enforce SPFL change
Mark Clattenburg has delivered his verdict on Rangers and their plans to bring about a change in the Scottish Premiership.
Rangers will be meeting their SPFL rivals in the coming days to discuss the poor officiating standards in Scotland.
Plans are to bring about long-term changes that will benefit all teams and also ensure that the money spent on video technology is being used properly.

Mark Clattenburg: Rangers move to lobby clubs is interesting
Clattenburg, a former FIFA referee, believes that it is an interesting move for the Ibrox outfit to lobby other clubs in the Scottish top flight.
He hopes that a positive conclusion can be reached by the clubs to improve the refereeing system in the SPFL.
The ex-Premier League official has urged them to look into the funding of full-time and professional refereeing.

Currently, most referees have another source of income, which is their primary employment, and they do not have enough time to dedicate to officiating.
However, all in all, he views it as a positive thing for Scottish football.
Clattenburg told Rangers News exclusively: “It’s an interesting move by Rangers to lobby on behalf of the Premiership clubs in Scotland to have a meeting to discuss refereeing matters.
“Of course, the number one subject will be the standard of refereeing and the use of VAR, which I hope that the clubs can give a positive response on how to improve the system.
“One of the other areas that they should discuss is to look at funding the introduction of full-time and professional refereeing, as at the moment, most referees have a primary employment which does not allow referees to be able to dedicate all of their time into refereeing.
“This meeting is a positive step in improving refereeing and making sure that refereeing changes can be implemented for the new season.”
Andy Robertson would be a PERFECT signing for Rangers!

SFA will not be attending the meeting
Thus far, it is not clear how many teams will be attending the meeting, but Rangers News understands that the response has been overwhelming, with a majority of clubs viewing this as a major issue.
What is certain is that the Scottish FA will not have any representative at this meeting.
However, if the clubs arrive at a conclusion on how to take things forward, they will then present their plans to the SFA.
