West Ham Eye £50m Scandinavian Raid as Midtjylland Director Hails “New Alexis Sanchez”
West Ham United could be preparing for one of the most exciting transfer moves of the summer, with FC Midtjylland stars Franculino Dju and Dario Osorio reportedly “ready” to make the leap to the Premier League.
The Hammers have been closely monitoring the highly-rated attacking duo for months, and fresh comments from Midtjylland technical director Simon Kjaer have only intensified speculation surrounding potential moves to the London Stadium. The Danish club are believed to value the pair at a combined fee of around £50 million, a figure that would smash previous transfer records in the Danish Superliga.
Franculino, the explosive Guinea-Bissau striker, has enjoyed a remarkable campaign despite missing several months through injury. The 21-year-old has scored goals consistently whenever fit and has emerged as one of the hottest young forwards in Scandinavia. West Ham previously saw a bid rejected for the striker last year, but reports suggest their interest has never disappeared.
Meanwhile, winger Dario Osorio is also firmly on the radar of the East London club. The Chile international has dazzled with his pace, dribbling ability and deadly left foot, earning comparisons to some of South America’s greatest attacking talents. Osorio’s versatility and direct style have made him one of the standout young wingers in Europe this season.
Speaking recently, former Denmark international Kjaer could not hide his admiration for the pair, insisting both players are prepared for elite-level football.
“They’re not just talented players anymore,” Kjaer explained. “They’ve already proven themselves internationally and are ready for Europe’s top leagues. They have the quality to play anywhere.”
Kjaer was especially glowing in his assessment of Osorio, comparing the Chilean winger to legendary former Arsenal and Barcelona forward Alexis Sanchez.
“In Chile, they see him as the next Alexis Sanchez,” he said. “He has incredible speed, intensity, technique and personality. He can play in the Premier League, Serie A or Bundesliga without problems.”
Those comments are likely to excite West Ham supporters, particularly as the club looks to reshape its attack ahead of next season. With uncertainty surrounding several current forwards and a desire to inject more pace and creativity into the squad, both Franculino and Osorio fit the profile West Ham are targeting.
Osorio’s style has already drawn comparisons to Jarrod Bowen due to his tendency to cut inside from the right flank onto his stronger left foot. His attacking movement, pressing energy and eye for goal make him an ideal modern winger, while Franculino’s physical presence and finishing instincts could provide the Hammers with a long-term solution up front.
Competition for both players is expected to be fierce, however. Clubs across Europe are reportedly tracking the duo, and Midtjylland are aware that major offers could arrive during the upcoming transfer window.
Still, West Ham’s long-standing interest may give them an advantage if negotiations accelerate. The club has increasingly looked toward emerging European markets for value signings, and the Danish Superliga has become a growing source of elite talent in recent years.
Should the Hammers secure both deals, it could represent one of the boldest transfer statements of the summer — and perhaps the arrival of the Premier League’s next Alexis Sanchez.
