Daniel Farke gesture to Leeds fans shared in unseen moment vs Nottingham Forest

    Daniel Farke punching the air
Leeds United marched their way closer to Premier League survival with a 3-1 win against Nottingham Forest.

Jayden Bogle, who was exceptional for Leeds, opened the scoring with just 26 minutes played.

Bogle was praised by Chris Sutton as the defender left the pundit stunned with his actions.

Noah Okafor would not long after end his goal drought, putting the LS11 outfit 2-0 up and well on their way to a massive three points.

Overall, the Peacocks coasted to victory, and that was topped off by Dominic Calvert-Lewin netting his 10th goal of the season to put them three goals to the good.

    MORE LEEDS STORIES

The visitors did manage to notch one back through Lorenzo Lucca, but it was nothing more than a consolation in what was ultimately a routine win.

The performance will please manager Daniel Farke, who, at one point, got quite animated on the sidelines.

Daniel Farke rallied the Elland Road crowd in Nottingham Forest win

Farke has done a tremendous job since his role in the dugout was put under the microscope towards the end of 2025.

Results and performances were far from good enough before then, and the trajectory looked like Leeds were heading back down to the Championship.

However, the German deserves all the credit since then. Under pressure he changed the way his team set up and the style, and that has allowed the Peacocks to rack up crucial points.

Farke has also become an enigmatic figure on the touchline, highlighted by an unseen interaction between himself and the fanbase.

According to journalist Graham Smyth, Farke had a moment where he gestured to rally up the Leeds fans; this was not caught on camera.

Smyth said via the Yorkshire Evening Post, in an ‘unseen moments’ article: “Daniel Farke raising his hands to the crowd to whip them up as Okafor battled to win the ball then a free-kick, as [Sean] Dyche complained to the fourth official.“

Farke was not the only one engaging with fans in the stadium, as Calvert-Lewin mocked Nottingham Forest supporters following Bogle’s opener.

Why Leeds’ win vs Forest was particularly big

At this stage, every point is crucial, but considering the fixtures coming Farke’s way, getting three points against a direct relegation rival is absolutely massive.

The next few weeks will not be easy for the German, with games against Chelsea, Manchester City, and Aston Villa coming in the next three Premier League matches.

    • Chelsea vs Leeds United – 10 February
    • Aston Villa vs Leeds United – 21 February
    • Leeds United vs Manchester City – 28 February

However, throughout the season, this Leeds side has shown they can compete in these matches. They have already beaten Chelsea, albeit a side under a different manager, and they pushed Manchester City close at the Etihad.

They did also go 1-0 up against Aston Villa back in November, before Morgan Rogers struck twice to give Villa a 2-1 win.

There is certainly some hope for positive results, despite the fixtures looking daunting on paper.
