Potential Blockbuster: Golden State Warriors Has Finally Land Jimmy Butler in Ambitious 4-Team Trade Today According To NBA Insiders

Golden State Warriors Could Sign Jimmy Butler from Miami Heat in 4-Team Trade

Klay Thompson left the Golden State Warriors in the summer after winning four rings during his time in the Bay Area. That has left the franchise scrambling for ways to turn themselves back into contenders and make the most out of Steph Curry’s remaining prime.

It is believed that the Warriors were interested in Paul George, before his move to the Philadelphia 76ers, but could not agree a trade package with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Jimmy Butler is also believed to be of interest to the Warriors, amid the constant uncertainty around his future with the Miami Heat.

Butler has a player option for the 25-26 season, which means that he could be a free agent come next summer if he chooses to.

It is hard to judge what the Heat’s plans are with regard to Butler. They did not hand him an extension and have not made any win-now moves this summer. Are they working with the Bam Adebayo era in mind already?

Signing Butler might not be straightforward for the Warriors though and a couple more teams might need to get involved to make a trade happen.

On Fran Leiva suggested a 4-team trade that would see the Warriors receive Butler. Heat would get Trae Young, Harrison Barnes, Kevon Looney and Jonathan Kuminga. Atlanta Hawks would receive Andrew Wiggins, Terry Rozier, Gary Payton II, 2025 First-Round Pick (via Warriors) and 2026 First-Round Pick (via Heat). Finally, the San Antonio Spurs would get De’Andre Hunter, Nikola Jovic and Pelle Larsson.

Considering the uncertainty around the future of Butler, bringing in players like Young and Kuminga would be a positive for the Heat in the long run.

Of course, this is a hypothetical situation and a lot of jigsaw pieces would need to fall in place for a trade of this magnitude to transpire.
