Los Angeles Lakers Could Sign Chicago Bulls Duo in Blockbuster Trade
The Chicago Bulls are stuck in NBA no man’s land at the moment, the last place any team should want to be. They are neither bad enough to tank nor good enough to contend.
It does look like the Bulls are pushing for a rebuild, having said goodbye to key players like Alex Caruso and DeMar DeRozan this summer. But they still have a few others they need to part ways with.
One such player is Nikola Vucevic. The two-time All-Star’s game has been on the decline for some time now but still has a couple of years left on his contract with the Bulls.
On the other hand, Lonzo Ball showed immense promise during his early days with the Bulls but has not played basketball for over two seasons now due to injury and has undergone multiple surgeries. The hope is that he will be back on the court this season but it is not guaranteed.
The Los Angeles Lakers are a team in need of some changes if they are to compete for the Championship. LeBron James will turn 40 this year and sooner or later, he will have to hang up his shoes.
Thus, there is an urgency to make the most of LeBron’s remaining years on the court. Could that lead the Lakers to make a move for two Bulls players?
In the article ‘5 Mock Trades to Elevate the Lakers To Contenders’ onĀ GIVEMESPORT, Svyatoslav Rovenchuk suggested a trade that would see the Lakers receive Ball and Vucevic for Rui Hachimura, Gabe Vincent, Jarred Vanderbilt, Jalen Hood-Schifino and 2025 Second-Round Pick via LAC.
Of course, Ball is a familiar face in Los Angeles, as the Lakers had drafted him second overall in the 2017 Draft. Any team trading for him at this point would be taking a risk. Vucevic, on the other hand, would most probably be a starter for them.
