Eddie Howe confirms Anthony Gordon latest after Newcastle star linked with Bayern and Barcelona
Eddie Howe has confirmed that Anthony Gordon remains committed to the cause at Newcastle United.
Indeed, Bayern want to sign Gordon this summer, while Barcelona have also been linked with a move for the England international.
Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal have also previously been credited with an interest.
What would you do with Anthony Gordon this summer and why?! 🤔

Gordon has returned from a recent hip injury but did not feature as Howe’s side finally claimed a win when they beat Brighton last weekend.
Speaking ahead of Newcastle United’s clash with Nottingham Forest on Sunday, Howe confirmed the latest.
Howe confirms Gordon is still committed to Newcastle
He said: “It is difficult for me to comment too much on individual players and timescales as that is going into an area that isn’t really my forte.
“I will leave that to other people. All I am doing is trying to finish the season in a strong way and make sure players are committed to the here and now.
“There is no point looking to the future. The summer transfer window is difficult to predict and difficult to see what is going to happen on any level at this moment in time. We have three games to play and our full focus is on that.”
When asked if Gordon was committed to the cause, Howe said: “Yeah, he wouldn’t be in the squad if that wasn’t the case. I judge that on my relationship with the player and how I see them train.”
Gordon has a long-term contract at Newcastle and is reportedly valued at around £75million.
German reports have suggested that Bayern are unwilling to meet Newcastle’s price tag for Gordon, although there have previously been suggestions that the Magpies need to sell a key player this summer.
Here’s my hot take heading into Forest – prove me wrong 👇

There is clearly no guarantee that the former Everton winger will leave St James’ Park this summer but the mood music would certainly suggest that he’s one of the prime candidates to go.
Gordon has struggled for consistency in a Newcastle shirt since his stunning first full season at the club, though he did score ten goals in 12 Champions League games as the club reached the quarter-finals for the first time in their history.

Newcastle’s unpopular replacement for Gordon right now
It would be fair to say that Gordon hasn’t torn up many trees in the Premier League for a while now, although that is true of most of his teammates right now.
As such, and coupled with his injury, Gordon did not feature even when returning to the squad.
With Harvey Barnes also struggling, Howe turned to Joe Willock as Newcastle’s left winger against Brighton.
Willock’s inclusion in the starting eleven proved unpopular on social media but the former Arsenal star played well in a difficult game and did little to warrant being dropped.
