SPFL draw up Celtic vs Rangers title ‘contingency plan’ in event of dramatic scenario

The SPFL have reportedly drawn up a contingency plan in the event that Celtic and Rangers cannot be separated at the top of the Premiership by points, goal difference, goals scored, or head-to-head record come the end of the season.
Indeed, a 3-1 win for Celtic over their arch-rivals next month would open up the possibility of the Glasgow rivals ending the campaign entirely level on the above metrics.
Should that incredible scenario transpire, a play-off for the title at a neutral venue – with the possibility of extra-time and penalties – is planned, claims RecordSport.
Hearts cannot end the season completely level with either Glasgow side, hence why an Old Firm league title play-off is only in the works.
