Thursday was an off day for the Dodgers on the field, but that did not stop them from making moves to add two new pitchers. They claimed old friend J.P. Feyereisen off waivers from the Diamondbacks, and acquired right-hander Ryan Loutos from the Cardinals for cash considerations.

It doesn’t change much about the timeline for Kopech, who’s been and hasn’t yet started a minor league rehab assignment. Moving him to the 60-day injured list means the earliest he could be activated is May 17.
Treinen was placed on the injured list on April 19 with right forearm tightness, and hasn’t pitched since April 13. The earliest he can now be activated is June 18. Manager Dave Roberts said Monday that Treinen has been shut down from throwiing, per Sonja Chen of MLB.com.
Feyereisen was designated for assignment by Arizona on Sunday, three days after allowing three runs (two earned) in the 10th inning to take the loss against the Rays. Prior to that loss, Feyereisen allowed one run in 9⅓ innings for Triple-A Reno, with seven strikeouts and two walks, and also pitched a scoreless inning for the Diamondbacks on April 19.
Feyereisen was with the Dodgers the previous two seasons, including rehabbing from shoulder surgery in 2023. Last season, Feyereisen had an 8.18 ERA in 11 innings in his 10 appearances in the majors, and posted a 5.48 ERA in 42⅔ innings in Triple-A Oklahoma City. Sent outright off the 40-man roster in July, Feyereisen elected free agency in October before signing a minor league deal with Arizona in March.
Loutos made his major league debut with the Cardinals last season, with 2⅓ scoreless innings over three appearances. This year in Triple-A Memphis, the 26-year-old right-hander had a 3.38 ERA in eight relief appearances, with six strikeouts and two walks in eight innings. He has not yet pitched in the majors in 2025.
Loutos was designated for assignment by the Cardinals on Monday. He was signed by the Cardinals as a non-drafted free agent in 2021 out of Washington University in St. Louis.
Feyereisen has one option year remaining and Loutos has two. Regarding the five-option limit per season, Loutos hasn’t yet used an option in 2025 and Feyereisen has used one.
