Chicago Bulls Star Could Be Golden State Warriors’ Top Target

The Golden State Warriors need to get Steph Curry and Draymond Green some help as soon as possible if they are to have any hope of challenging for the Championship. After a fantastic start to the season, which saw them top the West at one point, they are now on a terrible run.

It has left the Warriors sitting at ninth in the West with an 18-18 record. Even more worryingly, they are on a 6-15 run and things do not seem to be getting any better.

A lot of people believe that they need to bring in a high-profile name like Jimmy Butler to provide some support to Curry. But they might not even be in the race to sign the Miami Heat superstar.

Instead, it looks like the Warriors are looking to go bigger and a Chicago Bulls center is on their radar right now.

It is none other than Nikola Vucevic, who has been a standout at the start of the season. Marc Spears said on NBA Today: “I’m hearing that the Warriors literally want to go bigger than Jimmy Butler. And what I mean by that, they’re one of the most undersized teams in the league. So they’re trying to get a big guy to go alongside Draymond Green. So, people on their list include Nikola Vucevic, who has probably been, maybe the top guy on that list. He can shoot threes, play inside, he makes $20 million as opposed to the $48 million Jimmy makes.”

The Bulls are 17-20 to start off the season. While that is not a great record, that is much better than what was expected of them after parting with DeMar DeRozan and Alex Caruso over the summer.

One of the biggest reasons behind the Bulls’ relative success has been the form of Vucevic, who is putting up some career-best numbers at 34 years of age.

Vucevic is averaging 20.2 points, 10.1 rebounds and 3.2 assists this season. And he is doing so while shooting 55.3% from the field and 42.4% from three, career-high in both categories.

So, it is not hard to see why the Warriors might be interested in Vucevic and the good news for them is that the Bulls are believed to be open to trading the two-time All-Star.
