The Kansas City Chiefs have the best record in the NFL. No matter what comes the Chiefs’ way, they find a way to weather the storm and stack up wins on game day.

Kansas City is 15-1 going into the final week of the regular season, and they already have the No. 1 seed locked up in the AFC. The playoffs will run through Arrowhead Stadium as the Chiefs chase their third straight Super Bowl title.

The Chiefs travel to play the Denver Broncos in Week 18. With everything locked up, Kansas City revealed they would be giving multiple starters rest. At this point of the season, guys are nicked up so getting time to rest up before a crucial postseason run is clutch.

With Patrick Mahomes expected to be inactive, the Chiefs announced that QB Carson Wentz will be the starter against the Broncos.

Wentz came over this past April on a one-year, $3 million deal to be Mahomes’ backup. Thankfully, Mahomes was able to play in every game this season.

As for Wentz, he has a ton of starting experience under his belt. Over his nine-year career, the 32-year-old has started 93 games, going 47-45-1 in those bouts. Wentz has thrown for 22,312 passing yards, 153 passing touchdowns, and 67 interceptions in his career.

Reid said, “I think he’s a good football player. I think he’s got a good feel for this offense. . . he deserves an opportunity to get in there and play.”

Getting Wentz some real game reps is valuable, no matter what time of the season it is. With everything locked up, the Chiefs have the luxury to do this.
