“Ten-Time Gold Glove Winner Makes a Bold Statement on Himself a ‘Top Priority’ for Dodgers’ Offseason Strategy

Ten-Time Gold Glover Supposedly Not ‘Priority’ for Los Angeles Dodgers

After Nolan Arenado rejected a trade to the Houston Astros on Wednesday, the Los Angeles Dodgers have supposedly played an Uno reverse card on him.

In Thursday’s episode of “Foul Territory,” MLB insider Ken Rosenthal revealed a shocking truth about the Dodgers and Arenado.

“I don’t believe he’s going to go there, and the Dodgers have Max Muncy at third” said Rosenthal. “They have other things they want to do (with) the bullpen this offseason. Nolan Arenado is not a priority for them.”

This news comes as a surprise, as a team like LA is always looking to improve anywhere they can. Even in a down year, Arenado hit .272 with 16 home runs and 71 RBI. Muncy hit just .232 with 15 home runs and 45 RBI, and his defense is inferior to Arenado. Arenado is also a native of Southern California, so it would’ve been an opportunity to be closer to his family.

The Dodgers were one of the teams Arenado was considering waiving his no trade clause for as they are a contender year after year. The list of teams for Arenado shrinks even more with this rejection from the Dodgers and the Astros being told no.

Rosenthal added the Yankees and Red Sox are still teams to watch with Arenado as they fit the description of contender. However, it’s been reported both teams are also involved in the Alex Bregman sweepstakes.

If the Dodgers address the bullpen relatively quickly, don’t be surprised to see their interest in Arenado slowly increase.
