Gayle, who is currently representing Gujarat Giants in the Legends League Cricket, recently shared his thoughts when asked about India’s most successful captain. Without hesitation, the ‘Universe Boss’ picked Dhoni as his top choice, acknowledging Dhoni’s influence in shaping Indian cricket.
In his statement, Gayle emphasized Dhoni’s legacy as a captain, crediting him with setting new trends in leadership and being at the helm of India’s most successful campaigns.
“Dhoni has been the most successful captain for India. The guy has actually set the trend,” Gayle told IANS, referring to Dhoni’s calm and composed leadership style that helped India win multiple ICC trophies, including the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 ODI World Cup.
