West Ham interest in Rangers defender draws ‘big club’ response from manager Danny Rohl
Rangers manager Danny Rohl has opened up on Premier League interest in Emmanuel Fernandez.
Fernandez has enjoyed an excellent debut season at the Ibrox Stadium and could be on the move again this summer.
West Ham are among the clubs interested in signing the central defender when the transfer window opens.

Danny Rohl responds to West Ham interest in Emmanuel Fernandez
GlasgowWorld have reported that West Ham are “monitoring [Fernandez’s] progress” alongside Arsenal and Feyenoord ahead of the summer.
The 24-year-old would be a super signing for the Hammers, especially as an alternative to Chelsea loanee Axel Disasi.
Fernandez lacks experience, but he has all the tools (especially physically) to succeed in the Premier League.
However, Rohl has explained why Fernandez should stay in Glasgow for at least another season amid interest from elsewhere.
The German suggested Fernandez could fulfil his ambitions at Ibrox, especially if Rangers qualify for the Champions League.
“Manny (Fernandez) knows as well what he has here,” Rohl said in the build-up to Rangers’ defeat to Motherwell at the weekend.
“I think he developed very quickly and soon. We should not forget that one year ago, he played in League One (for Peterborough United).
“Now, he plays for a big club, and if everything goes well as we want, maybe he can play next year at the highest competition.”

He continued: “I think we have a lot of arguments: good training squad, fantastic stadium, nice city, and good fans, owners, and the group together are the things that help us for players to develop and play at the highest level of football.”
Although it may be sensible for Fernandez to stay with Rangers until next year, how could he reject a Premier League move?
Unfortunately for Scottish football, they cannot compete with the financial backing of the big clubs in England.
Fernandez would not only earn a pay rise at West Ham, but he would have the opportunity to test himself against the world’s best players every week.
Considering he only signed for Rangers for £3 million last summer, this would be a remarkable development in the Nigerian’s career.
