Rangers fans should have complete faith in Danny Rohl amid promising reveal vs St Mirren

Rangers return to Scottish Premiership action when they visit St Mirren on Sunday.

Back-to-back 2-2 draws with Livingston and Celtic leave Rangers six points off the top of the Scottish Premiership table, and their hopes of winning the Scottish Premiership for the first time in five years are fading away.

Danny Rohl’s men now face a St Mirren side that are 10th in the Scottish Premiership and have just lost manager Stephen Robinson to Aberdeen, meaning interim head coach Craig McLeish will take charge of the match.

Despite the fact that Rangers lost to Celtic last Sunday in the Scottish Cup, fans should feel hopeful that they could return to winning ways.

Rangers fans should be optimistic ahead of St Mirren clash

St Mirren are unbeaten in their last three home league games against Rangers, last going four without defeat against them in April 1984.

However, while Rangers have only won one of their last five league matches against St. Mirren, that was in their most recent meeting in December.

The hosts have only won one of their last 13 league games, a 1-0 home win over league leaders Hearts in February.

StatRangersRangers’ away form in the Scottish PremiershipRangers are unbeaten in their last 12 league games, their longest run since going 17 without defeat from November 2022 to April 2023.

When it comes to their home form in the Scottish Premiership, the hosts have won four games out of 14 at St Mirren Park, while also drawing five and losing five.

The Bears are definitely in a good place to secure all three points against McLeish’s side, especially if Youssef Chermiti continues his fine form.

Why Youssef Chermiti could be the key for Rangers vs St Mirren

The Portuguese striker has faced considerable criticism this campaign, but he has certainly stepped up in 2026.

Chermiti has scored five of Rangers’ last seven league goals. His five goals in his last three league games are more than he scored in his first 18 Scottish Premiership appearances beforehand (four).

On Friday, the 21-year-old was awarded the Scottish Premiership Player of the Month award following his performances for the Bears in February.

Although Chermiti was signed by Russell Martin, Rohl clearly values a lot of his qualities.

His pace and strength are valuable qualities to have, but his ability to create a moment of magic out of nothing makes him a special talent.

And if the Bears end up winning the league this season, a lot of praise must go to the former Everton striker.
