West Ham survival hopes may suffer after Tottenham’s Champions League thrashing
West Ham fans must have enjoyed Tottenham’s 5-2 Champions League defeat to Atletico Madrid on Tuesday.
The Hammers’ relegation rivals were 4-0 down within 22 minutes after a catalogue of errors from goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky.
Interim head coach Igor Tudor has now lost all four games in charge of the North London club by a combined score of 14-5.
However, Spurs’ embarrassing defeat could spell bad news for West Ham if it forces them into a managerial change.
West Ham must fear ‘new manager bounce’ from Tottenham
Tudor’s position at Tottenham might have become untenable with their 5-2 defeat at the Wanda Metropolitano.
This could force the Spurs owners to make another hasty decision to sack Tudor and hire another interim manager.
But while this chaos may appear comical to West Ham supporters, it would lessen their chances of Premier League survival.
Tudor has made Spurs worse since replacing Thomas Frank last month, so a managerial change would probably help them.

With a home game against Nottingham Forest coming up before the international break, a new boss could definitely turn things around.
From West Ham’s perspective, it would be particularly concerning if Spurs hired a survival specialist like Sean Dyche.
On the other hand, Hammers fans should be delighted if Tottenham decide to persevere with Tudor.
The Italian manager has not only failed to get results, but it appears he has already lost the dressing room and the fanbase.
Spurs’ decision remains to be seen, but what we do know is that it will have a significant impact on the relegation battle.
