Danny Rohl simply must end Ryan Naderi experiment after latest Ibrox woes – These stats prove why

The start of Ryan Naderi’s Rangers career certainly hasn’t gone to plan.

Rangers reached an agreement to sign Naderi for £5.2million from Hansa Rostock on deadline day, and he was instantly thrown into the deep end.

However, despite scoring twice in the 8-0 win over Queen’s Park, he has failed to announce himself in the Scottish Premiership.

The transfer fee is the most expensive sale in the history of Germany’s third tier, and it was clear that Danny Rohl wanted to do whatever was possible to bring the 22-year-old to G51.

But after Rangers lost to Celtic on Sunday in the Scottish Cup, it’s clear that the German number nine needs to be dropped by Rohl.

Danny Rohl has to drop Ryan Naderi and ditch 4-2-2-2 formation

The 4-2-2-2 formation worked wonders in the win over Hearts in February, but the draws to Livingston and Celtic that followed showed how ineffective the tactic can be.

Naderi was introduced into the side to play alongside Youssef Chermiti, and although the Portuguese striker has shown what he is capable of, it hasn’t brought the best out of Naderi.

According to Sofascore, he has a pass accuracy of 78.9 per cent, which is far from good enough if Rohl wants someone to link up the play in the middle.

StatNaderiNaderi’s Scottish Premiership stats this season (via Sofascore)Naderi has also completed just one successful dribble in the league, and although he that isn’t one of his strengths, that return is still woeful.

Given the fact that the 4-2-2-2 formation has worked out for Rohl, he has an easy solution for Sunday’s game against St. Mirren.

Naderi must drop out of the Rangers starting line-up after a spell of poor performances, with Djeidi Gassama replacing him.

As a result, Mikey Moore would move to a more central role, which is definitely the best-case scenario for Rangers.

Why is Mikey Moore best-suited to playing centrally for Rangers?

The Tottenham loanee may have taken a while to find his feet for the Ibrox outfit, but it’s clear that he is now one of the most influential players in Rohl’s squad.

Moore has created 27 chances and registered 33 successful dribbles in the league this season, and Rangers are in desperate need of an attacking midfielder who can find space in the attacking third.

With eight goal involvements in 38 games across all competitions, he clearly has a lot of room to improve, and playing in behind Chermiti would allow him to get on the ball much more.

Therefore, dropping Naderi to the bench to accommodate Moore in a central role is what Rohl has to do.

Otherwise, the Bears will likely end the season without any silverware.
