Crysencio Summerville set for assessment on West Ham injury, confirms Nuno
West Ham United are set to assess Crysencio Summerville after the winger suffered a knock against Brentford in the FA Cup, Nuno Espirito Santo has confirmed.
The sight of Summerville limping around towards the end of West Ham United’s FA Cup win over Brentford is the only negative to have emerged from a fantastic night at the London Stadium.
Who was West Ham’s BEST PLAYER against Brentford?! 🤔

Indeed, Summerville suffered a knock for West Ham against Brentford after coming onto the pitch in the second half. While he did finish the game that went into extra-time, the Dutchman did not take any of West Ham’s five penalties.
Crysencio Summerville set for injury assessment
Speaking to BBC Sport after the game, Nuno said: “Let’s assess him. He felt a knock. I don’t know exactly what he has. It is concerning but hopefully we recover with this moment of joy. We’ll get better, we’ll be faster and we will be able to compete against [Manchester] City.
“Enjoy for a couple of hours and then refocus, recover well and respect your body. It was a big effort from a lot of the players. Then we have to go again.”
Clearly, the Hammers cannot afford to be without perhaps their most important player ahead of the final nine games of the Premier League campaign.
When was the last time a West Ham player excited you so much?! 😍

The former Leeds star has emerged as one of the form players in the Premier League this season, scoring five goals and registering one assist in West Ham’s last nine outings.
It’s difficult to see how Nuno’s side could even dream of survival had the 24-year-old not hit a stunning purple patch in recent weeks.
Nuno will be able to provide further updates when he speaks to the press ahead of Saturday’s clash against Manchester City later this week.

West Ham United’s record without Crysencio Summerville this season
While Summerville being considered one of the best players in the Premier League is a relatively new phenomenon, the Irons have been poor without him all season.
In fact, the winger has missed five Premier League games this season and West Ham have not won a single one of them.
While it’s unwise to speculate about Summerville’s fitness heading into the final few games of the season, West Ham could certainly do without the worry hanging over them right now.
