Danny Rohl issues warning message to Kyle Glasgow promise as Rangers make official announcement

Danny Rohl issues Kyle Glasgow promise as Rangers make official announcement

Danny Rohl played an important role in ensuring that Kyle Glasgow committed his future to Rangers.

Rangers announced that Glasgow had signed a new deal, putting an end to any speculation surrounding his next destination.

The 16-year-old resisted interest from clubs in England to ensure that he continues playing his football in Glasgow.

Danny Rohl visited Kyle Glasgow during contract discussions

Before the teenager put pen to paper on a new deal, he was in talks with the club over what committing his future to them looked like.

There were multiple conversations that were understood to have dragged on into the new year as well, per Rangers Review.

During one round of talks, Rohl paid him a visit as well to help him arrive at a decision.

While the German did not speak a lot to Glasgow, he made him a promise that he wanted him for the first team.

Had the attacker moved to a Premier League club, for example, he would not be on track to make the first team as quickly as he will at Rangers.

Rohl has already backed up his words as Glasgow has been involved in first-team training and has left an impression on the Gers boss.

Why retaining Glasgow’s services is a coup for Rangers

The 16-year-old is a highly-rated attacker and one of the best players in the club’s academy, so his extension is undoubtedly a coup.

He has bagged 15 goals this season for the Under-17s and Under-19s, and has managed to star against players three years older than him.

Glasgow has been likened to Newcastle star Anthony Gordon for his explosiveness and also due to how hard he works out of possession.

The fact that he has already trained with the senior players multiple times suggests that he may not be far away from making his first-team debut.

Had he turned 16 sooner, he perhaps would already have done so, but fans certainly will be excited to see it whenever it happens.

Borussia Dortmund, known for having an eye on top young talent, were also linked with Glasgow previously, so that is an indicator of the Gers having a hot prospect on their hands.
