Jarrod Bowen West Ham Transfer News: ‘Disaster’ Means Sale Now Likely

West Ham United could be forced to accept offers for star players including Jarrod Bowen regardless of whether they remain in the Premier League next season.

The Hammers have found themselves in a nightmare situation financially after reporting £104million losses and will need to sell players to balance the books.

Former West Ham scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Bowen could be on that list of potential sales as he remains one of their most high-value stars.

While the 29-year-old is believed to be happy at West Ham and had no immediate plans to leave the club, ongoing turmoil behind the scenes could force him out.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side also remain 18th in the Premier League table and there is a growing expectation that Bowen will leave West Ham if they are relegated.

West Ham could be forced to sell Jarrod Bowen

Brown told Football Insider last month that Bowen is unlikely to leave West Ham and is keen to stick around, but that cannot be guaranteed if they are relegated.

The club’s financial situation has also thrown his future into doubt, although they are more likely to cash in on fringe players in an attempt to raise funds.

“West Ham are in real trouble,” Brown told Football Insider.

“If you asked me last season, or even a few months ago, I would’ve said there was no chance Bowen would be leaving West Ham any time soon.

“He’s happy at the club, he has his connections there, he’s their most important player and the fans love him as well, so that’s all positive.

“But this season has been a disaster and recent incidents might change things for him.

“He’s not going to want to play in the Championship, that’s for sure, but even if they don’t go down I think West Ham might have to look at selling him.

“They’ve got real issues financially at the moment and are going to have to sell players, and Bowen is obviously the standout in terms of his price tag.

“They’ll probably want to sell fringe players first of all, but it depends how much they can get for them, whereas you know Bowen will go for a big fee.

“So if they really need to raise funds and quickly, I don’t think you can rule out Bowen leaving any more, and that shows how much of a mess they are in.”

El Hadji Malick Diouf could be sold by West Ham

Bowen is not the only star name who could be leaving the London Stadium this summer as the Hammers consider which assets to cash in on.

There is no doubt players will be sold regardless of their Premier League status, while players are already believed to be considernig their futures.

West Ham could sell El Hadji Malick Diouf, who has attracted interest from top clubs after his performances so far this season including at the Africa Cup of Nations.

The left-back signed for the Hammers in the summer, but is not keen to play in the Championship if they are relegated, and could move on regardless.

His value has increased since making the £19million switch last season, and he would likely represented a large and much-needed profit if they were to sell.
