Brighton & Hove Albion have agreed a deal with Rangers to sign Chris Condy.

The 16-year-old has been permitted to undergo his medical at the Seagulls and discuss personal terms, according to the Daily Record.

It’s been reported in the news outlet on 2 March that while the Gers made an offer to keep the young striker at the club, they are ready to let go and will make more than they would have under compensation.

Condy signed for the Glaswegian outfit last summer from Hamilton Accies and is now expected to be given permission to trial with the Premier League club before the end of the season, before signing a full-time deal and entering their development setup.

Rangers on verge of losing another academy talent

Condy has impressed many since signing for the Gers, scoring more than 20 goals for the youth side, and it isn’t surprising to see interest from down south.

The Light Blues academy setup hasn’t produced many players who have gone on to succeed in the first-team setup, but there have been encouraging players in recent years.

Bailey Rice has been one Auchenhowie graduate the Ibrox faithful have been anticipating big things from.

The 19-year-old defensive midfielder hasn’t had a lot of opportunities in recent months and picked up a long-term injury midway through the season.

Aston Villa have expressed interest in Rice, and could sign the midfielder on a pre-contract agreement, with his current deal at the Glaswegian outfit expiring at the end of the campaign.

Danny Rohl to rue winter transfer departure after what’s seen at Ibrox

Andreas Skov Olsen has failed to live up to expectations since moving on loan to Rangers in the winter transfer window.

Going by the 26-year-old Denmark international’s current form, it would be surprising to see them trigger the £8.6million option to buy him in the summer.

Danny Rohl must now surely be rueing sending Findlay Curtis to Kilmarnock until the end of the season and replacing him with Skov Olsen.

The German manager must show more faith in the Glaswegian outfit’s academy prospects going forward, as Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises surely look to build a sustainable model in Govan.
