Rangers handed boost to sign Huddersfield ace Cameron Ashia

Rangers are keen on securing the services of Huddersfield Town starlet Cameron Ashia in the summer transfer window.

The Ibrox outfit have started their plans to build a side for next season that can once again be in the mix to win the title and potentially defend it, if they are to overcome the four-point gap with Hearts this term.

Danny Rohl is likely to be backed by the owners, who showed their faith in him with four new signings in the January transfer window.

Cameron Ashia to be on the move if Huddersfield do not get promoted

According to Football Fancast, Huddersfield are resigned to losing the 20-year-old midfielder if they do not achieve promotion this season.

Along with Rangers, there are a host of clubs in England willing to take a punt on his services this summer.

QPR, Stoke and Birmingham are among those tracking Ashia, and they are likely to swoop in if the Terriers remain a League One outfit for the 2026/27 season.

Currently, they are in sixth place, which is enough for the play-offs, but there is still plenty of football left to be played.

The Gers will keep one eye on England’s third tier as they have promised a better destination for the London-born player.

    MORE RANGERS STORIES

Ashia would possibly play in the Champions League and challenge for trophies at Ibrox, something he is not expected to do at any of the aforementioned clubs.

Why Rangers’ interest in Ashia makes sense

Even though the 20-year-old is not a regular starter, he still manages to contribute in terms of goals and assists, with nine goal involvements this term.

That is important for the Gers as they do not have a midfielder who can also be a goal-scoring threat.

Ashia is capable of playing out wide as well as leading the line, so he will bring versatility that Rohl fancies.

Given the fact that he’s in England’s third tier and wants out, Rangers can secure his services at a discount.

Due to his age, he offers a higher resale potential as well, ticking a number of boxes for the Ibrox outfit.
