Chris Sutton and Barry Ferguson have predicted Rangers to beat Celtic in the William Hill Premiership in March.

Ibrox will host the Old Firm derby on 1 March, with the Gers given the edge over their bitter rivals.

Sutton believes the Light Blues will have an advantage due to the Hoops’ schedule, predicting a 2-1 loss for the visitors.

As for Ferguson, the Govan side’s former interim manager expects Danny Rohl to get the better of Martin O’Neill due to home advantage with a 3-1 scoreline, which will absolutely delight supporters in G51. absolutely delight in.

Sutton doesn’t think Gers’ possible win over Celtic will be title-defining, with still several games to go in the William Hill Premiership.

    MORE RANGERS STORIES

The Ibrox faithful are finally confident about challenging Hearts in the league after the Light Blues beat Derek McInnes’ team 4-2 at home to close the gap at the top of the table.

As things stand, the Rohl’s team are a point ahead of the Hoops, who have a game in hand, and two points behind the Jam Tarts, with the race for first place heating up in Scotland.

Speaking to the Daily Record on 17 February, Ferguson said, “These games are always hard to call, but Rangers are at home, and Ibrox is becoming a real fortress again. The atmosphere was electric at the weekend and it’ll be even noisier when Celtic come calling. Rangers will be too strong.”

Sutton added, “Again, tough one to call right now given the fact Celtic will be coming back into it straight from an away Euro game in Germany. All things being equal, judging at this moment in time, Rangers might just edge that. Would it be a defining result in the campaign? No, because there would still be time left for Celtic or Rangers to recover from an adverse result.”

The two Glaswegian clubs also have a chance to deal blows to each other’s title hopes as Celtic return to Ibrox on 7 March for the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup quarter-final.

William Hill Premiership to-six split to be defining for Danny Rohl

It feels like the William Hill Premiership will go down to the wire this season, with some tough fixtures in the top-six split.

Motherwell could potentially determine who will be at the top of the table come the end of the season, with Jens Berthel Askou’s team hard to beat.

While Rangers have got the better of Celtic and Hearts this season, the Steelmen have proven to be a tough nut to crack, taking points from the Govan side in the last three meetings.

Fans in G51 are gearing up for an exciting few months, and it remains to be seen who will ultimately succeed in Scotland.
