Michael Stewart delivers awful take on Rangers striker Youssef Chermiti
Michael Stewart appears to be completely missing the point with regard to Youssef Chermiti and Rangers.
Chermiti moved to Ibrox in the summer from Everton for a fee of around £8m, making him the club’s second-most expensive signing in history.
While the 21-year-old has struggled with his consistency in his first season at Rangers, he has scored two goals at Celtic Park and recently bagged a hat-trick in a 4-2 win against Hearts.

Michael Stewart fails to articulate why Youssef Chermiti is a flop
Stewart is known to criticise Rangers and their players and managers without having a valid reason to back it up.
He has been paid for his “expert” opinion, being an ex-pro, but he continues with the same partisan talking points he has been on about for years.
While discussing Chermiti, he brought up two random reasons as to why he does not rate him, which are not even accurate.
What the 21-year-old lacks is consistency and confidence, but that is understandable as he’s moved to a new league, is playing these many minutes for the first time in his career, and is also part of a team that has changed managers recently, so he still needs to adapt completely to Danny Rohl’s system.

To make things worse, the former Hearts and Hibs midfielder himself admitted that it was hard to articulate why Chermiti would not do well after he’s just scored a hat-trick against the league leaders.
Asked if he has the potential to be a top striker, Stewart said: “No. He scored a hat-trick, which is wonderful for Rangers and for him, but again, this is terrible defending from Hearts.
“Good touch, good finish, but his all-round game is a little bit slack.
“His touch, at times, is very unpredictable. Very hard to articulate that when he’s scored a hat-trick.”

How far can Chermiti go at Rangers?
Chermiti does remind fans of Cyriel Dessers, as the Nigerian also did not always show up, but when he did, everyone took note and his overall numbers were impressive.
The only difference between the two enigmatic forwards is that one was in his prime and the other one joined from a club where he was the third-choice striker.
The former Everton forward is still 21 and has years to go before he peaks, so this could actually be a shrewd investment from the Ibrox outfit.
If Rohl can guide this team to the title, more investment is expected in the squad in the summer, and that would only help get the best out of Chermiti.
He would also have one season’s experience in the Scottish Premiership, and could work hard in the off-season to become Rangers’ first-choice striker.
