FC Bayern Munich blacklist misbehaving agents as Hoeneß draws a line
After recently concluding lengthy and tough contract negotiations with Dayot Upamecano and his representatives, Bayern Munich are aiming to take a tougher stance on agents going forward.
“We will put this entire agent issue up for discussion! And we will no longer tolerate agents deciding on their own how things are run,” Bayern supervisory board member in an interview with .
According to the 74-year-old, agents’ contributions are “increasingly disproportionate to the fees that are demanded and often ultimately paid.”
We will increasingly say ‘No’ and refuse to participate in this madness,” added Hoeness, who previously said he was “appalled” by the way Upamecano’s representatives behaved during their negotiations
He stressed that an agent’s conduct ultimately reflects on the player.
“You can also tell a player: ‘If your agent continues to negotiate so outrageously, we will no longer discuss your future with us.’ It has to go that far,” Hoeneß said.
Looking ahead, he suggested that Bayern may even blacklist certain agents and their players.
