Nuno responds when asked if ‘very good’ Axel Disasi will make West Ham debut at Burnley
Nuno Espirito Santo has indicated that Axel Disasi could play his first game for West Ham United since arriving on loan from Chelsea in Saturday’s trip to Burnley.
The Hammers will make the trip to Turf Moor without Jean-Clair Todibo.
Todibo was sent off against Chelsea in last weekend’s 3-2 defeat. As a result, the West Ham United boss may feel he has little choice but to throw Axel Disasi in at the deep end, and give the deadline day signing his first Premier League outing since a loan spell at Aston Villa in April 2025.
Who should replace Todibo on Saturday?! 🤔
Keep in mind that Axel Disasi hasn’t played in months 😬

Five-time France international Disasi is ‘ready to fight’ for the West Ham cause. And, speaking at a press conference on Thursday lunchtime, Nuno Espirito Santo confirms that the 27-year-old will be assessed tomorrow ahead of what feels like a make-or-break fixture in the Hammers’ survival battle.
Nuno Espirito Santo says West Ham United are assessing Axel Disasi
“I think he’s been working, he’s in a good place physically,” Nuno says of Disasi, who has not played a single first-team match all season but has been keeping himself fit with Chelsea’s reserves.
“He’s been working physically at Chelsea, [working] very hard, and I see him well. Of course, he has to get inside the team and know his teammates, but I think he can help us.
“He is a strong defender, good on the ball, and a very good option for us. [Disasi’s fitness] is what we are assessing right now. And we will decide tomorrow.”
