Shock: West Ham Make Contact to Sign ‘One of the Best Players in the World’
West Ham United boss Nuno Espírito Santo could look to boost his squad further in the coming weeks of the January transfer window – with a move for ex-Premier League star Ademola Lookman being touted.
The Hammers have struggled for goals all season, notching just 24 in the top-flight, and with the worst defensive line in the division, it isn’t a good formula for the Irons’ future hopes.
Something needs to change. Pablo and Taty Castellanos have been brought in, with the latter coming from Serie A – and West Ham may revisit the Italian league again, according to reports, with Lookman being their top target.
Report: West Ham ‘Make Contact’ With Ademola Lookman’s Representatives

The report by Topskills Sports states that West Ham contacted Ademola Lookman’s entourage to enquire about his availability over a potential move to the London Stadium.
Lookman, who has been labelled as ‘one of the best players in the world’ for his efforts in Bergamo, has recently had a tumultuous time at the club due to arguments with former bosses and the club’s hierarchy, and a move away has been touted for quite some time for the Nigeria international.
West Ham are interested, and with goals in short supply at the London Stadium, a move for Lookman would severely boost their chances of Premier League survival, with the Hammers currently five points behind Nottingham Forest.
Lookman is top of their shortlist under Nuno Espírito Santo, and after coming third with Nigeria in the Africa Cup of Nations, Lookman is ready to return to club football.
Whether that means he will opt for a move to east London remains to be seen, but it is clear that the Hammers would love to add Lookman to their squad, in what would be a real coup for the Premier League strugglers.
Lookman May Not be Willing to Sign For West Ham in Current Predicament

There has been interest from the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool in the past, and so Champions League football isn’t out of the question – though the Championship might be if the club can’t recover their position in the league table.
The Hammers, despite a 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday afternoon in the last minute, are still five points adrift of Nottingham Forest in the Premier League standings.
Lookman would be a direct upgrade on Crysencio Summerville, though actually getting him to sign at this stage could be much easier said than done – despite previous experience at the likes of Leicester City, Fulham and Everton.
