Leeds United have pulled away from the relegation zone in recent weeks thanks to an unbeaten run of games, which unfortunately came to an end against Newcastle United in dramatic fashion.

    ‌

Daniel Farke’s side have turned a corner in recent weeks after a change in formation, and the Whites have been linked with a number of potential incoming transfers that could bolster their ranks.

    ‌

They’ve also been linked with several departures with just over two weeks left in the January transfer window to complete any business before the window closes for the second half of the campaign.

    ‌

With that in mind, LeedsLive has taken a look at the latest transfer news and speculation concerning the Whites.

    Aston Villa ‘advantage’

As Leeds Live outlined earlier this week, the Whites have not made any advances to sign defender Danilho Doekhi, despite reports in Germany.

Both the Whites and Aston Villa have been credited with an interest in the defender, according to German media outlet Kicker, having reportedly made it clear he won’t sign a new contract with Bundesliga side Union Berlin.

    ‌

That leaves the German side with just a few weeks left to cash in on the defender, who has scored six goals in 18 matches this season, including a brace in a 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich in November.

Birmingham Live points out that Doekhi’s cousin, Lamare Bogarde, is part of Unai Emery’s first team squad at Villa, handing Leeds’ Premier League rivals with a so-called advantage in trying to sign the 27-year-old Dutch defender.

    ‘Medical planned’

La Nazione claim Italian side Fiorentina are close to agreeing a deal to sign Jack Harrison from Leeds United, with the player set to arrive in Italy ‘in the next few hours.’

The Serie A side have reportedly agreed a loan deal, with an obligation to buy the 29-year-old for a fee in the region of €10m (£8.7m) agreed.

The report claims Fiorentina won’t take up the obligation if they’re relegated from the Italian top flight and currently sit in 18th place, with a medical planned soon.

The winger, who has spent the last two seasons on loan with Everton, has made made 13 appearances in all competitions for Leeds this season, but 10 of them have been as a substitute.
