West Ham make Nuno sack decision – Here’s who could replace him

Nuno Espirito Santo’s future at West Ham is in increasing doubt after yet another defeat in the Premier League.

West Ham were beaten 1-0 by Fulham at the London Stadium on Saturday afternoon, with Raul Jimenez’s late header condemning Nuno’s side to a third straight loss.

Ollie Scarles was at fault for the Jimenez winner, failing to deal with a loose ball in his own box and allowing Harry Wilson to nip in and set up the only goal of the game.

The Hammers are now five points adrift of Premier League safety and the hierarchy in East London are considering a switch in the dugout.

Nuno Espirito Santo now in real sack danger

Nuno replaced Graham Potter at the London Stadium back in September, but is now in real danger of losing his job after just three months.

The 51-year-old picked up eight points from his first seven games in charge, but has failed to guide his side to a single win in the seven matches since then.

According to talkSPORT, the Hammers will seriously consider dismissing the Portuguese manager if their form does not improve quickly.

West Ham’s hierarchy has reportedly been “left perplexed” by Nuno’s insistence on starting without a recognised striker.

The former Nottingham Forest boss has left Callum Wilson on the bench in each of his side’s last four games, instead utilising Jarrod Bowen through the middle.

Who could replace Nuno Espirito Santo at West Ham?

If West Ham do decide to part ways with Nuno, their next appointment becomes absolutely pivotal in their bid to avoid Premier League relegation.

The East London outfit cannot afford a third failed managerial reign of the season, as it would surely condemn them to Championship football next term.

After the sacking of Potter, West Ham were linked with former boss Slaven Bilic, and the Croatian is still out of work and available.

Bringing Bilic in would mean that the Hammers don’t have to pay a compensation fee, which could prove tempting given the costs of sacking two managers in three months.

Frank Lampard is another option, but it seems unlikely that the West Ham academy graduate would be willing to leave Coventry City, who are currently eight points clear at the top of the Championship.
