Last week, reports in Spain said that Glasner would be leaving Palace at the end of the season, with the club already making plans to replace him.

Bordalas came out and confirmed that he does speak English following the reports, with the links now expected to gain momentum over the coming months.

Fabrizio Romano reported on Thursday that Glasner has made the decision to leave Palace, with Football Insider naming three clubs who could appoint him in the summer.

Manchester United

It is no secret that Ruben Amorim is under pressure at Manchester United, with his first full season threatening to go awry.

The 40-year-old was appointed just over a year ago following the sacking of Erik ten Hag, but has failed to really find his feet.

The Red Devils finished 15th in the Premier League and lost the Europa League final under his watch, and this season, consistency has avoided Amorim‘s team.

Manchester United are only three points from the top four, but also just four points away from 15th, too, and are now set for a month without captain and key player Bruno Fernandes.

Additionally, Amorim has faced criticism for his treatment of Kobbie Mainoo, and his recent comments on the likes of Chido Obi Martin.

With Glasner deploying a three-back system at Palace, he would appear to be a perfect tactical fit for the Manchester United squad and perhaps a calmer head to lead a chaotic club.

Tottenham

Tottenham hired Thomas Frank in the summer, but whether he finishes the season in charge at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium remains to be seen.

The Dane’s side have endured a torrid season so far, sitting 14th in the Premier League and constantly producing lacklustre performances.

Tottenham have been booed by their own fans at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on a regular basis, winning just twice there from nine Premier League games.

It has been clear for some time that the problems at the North London club run far deeper than the manager, but decision-makers can only accept so much.

Glasner could be a perfect pivot point, offering a more attacking style than Frank, but the Austrian would face a big decision himself, considering the difficulty of the job.

Newcastle United

Newcastle United‘s owners have never appeared to have even considered sacking Eddie Howe in the four years since his arrival.

The former Bournemouth boss first took the Magpies to the Champions League in 2023, and last season, lifted the Carabao Cup to end a 70-year wait for silverware.

But there have been issues this season. Newcastle’s away form has been awful for some time now, with Howe’s side winning just one of their eight league games played away from St James’ Park this season.

And unlike previous seasons, key home games have failed to fall their way, too, with the Magpies in a disappointing 11th.

Decision-makers at St James’ Park hope to have a team that can compete for the Premier League, but they may well have to make an uncomfortable decision if they are to take the next step in that aim.
