Fabrizio Romano says Everton have just reached agreement to make their next signing, ‘Here we go’

Everton’s transfer window has sprung into life again, after Fabrizio Romano delivered a significant transfer update.

David Moyes ideally still needs a few new faces in before the new season starts in a couple of weeks.

Last night, Moyes wouldn’t be drawn on the Tyler Dibling interest, but today Everton appear to be taking steps forward to land the talented young Englishman.

But Everton also want a new midfielder – and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is of interest.

Dewsbury-Hall has been on Everton’s radar for a while now.

Everton are now in talks with Chelsea over Dewsbury-Hall, and word has arrived regarding the player’s current valuation.

But Moyes has also said he’s confident of getting new players through the door, although the lack of a bedding in period is not lost on the Everton manager.

    MORE EVERTON STORIES

A new midfielder would certainly be most welcome, after the departures of Orel Mangala and Abdoulaye Doucoure.

And Dewsbury-Hall appears to be the player Everton will now bring in.

In the last moments, top journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported on X that Everton have now reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign Dewsbury-Hall permanently.

He says: “Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to Everton, here we go! Permanent deal agreed with Chelsea and player side.

“Understand fee is worth £25m fixed plus add-ons up to £28/29m total package. KDH, Ugochukwu and Chukwuemeka are all leaving Chelsea on permanent deal.”

According to The Athletic, Chelsea had initially been looking around £30 million to sanction a permanent deal for Dewsbury-Hall, which is what they paid to sign him from Leicester City.

It was probably inevitable that Chelsea would demand a fair whack for Dewsbury-Hall, even though he is not a regular starter.

Ultimately, like most of the Chelsea players, he is on a long contract at Stamford Bridge, meaning Chelsea are firmly in the driving seat.

But Everton deserve praise for getting to work quickly on these. The story has moved very quickly today, and it looks like Dewsbury-Hall could now be a new Everton player in the coming days.

Time is really of the essence now, and clearly that has been recognised as Moyes seeks a strong squad to head into 2025/26 with.
