Kentucky has picked up another wide receiver through the transfer portal.

On Tuesday afternoon, On3’s Pete Nakos reported that SMU’s Ashton Cozart has committed to the Kentucky Wildcats. As a true freshman for the Mustangs in 2024, the 6-foot-3 pass catcher appeared in four games, registering one catch for 24 yards. He began his college career at Oregon in 2023, but did not play and ended up redshirting.

Cozart comes to Lexington with three years of eligibility remaining.

Playing high school football for Marcus (TX), Cozart was considered a top 250 prospect from the 2023 recruiting class and a four-star recruit. He was being recruited by several big-name schools — including the likes of Alabama, Oklahoma, and more — before landing at Oregon. Upon entering the transfer portal following his lone season at SMU, On3 gave him a three-star ranking.

Kentucky has loaded up on wide receivers in the offseason. Cozart is the fifth wide-out to commit to the ‘Cats from the transfer portal, where they’ll play under first-year WR coach L’Damian Washington.
