Spencer Strider has been placed on the 15-day injured list, the team announced Monday. Per multiple reports, he pulled his right hamstring playing catch before the team’s matchup with the St. Louis Cardinals. The move is retroactive to April 18th. Right-hander Michael Petersen was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett in a corresponding move. The Toronto Blue Jays have optioned Easton Lucas to Triple-A Buffalo and called up Josh Walker, who has performed well for the Bisons. Walker sports a 2.57 ERA across six games with 10 strikeouts. Lucas performed well across two starts for the Blue Jays, but then had troubles with giving up home runs. He surrendered 14 runs across his last two starts. including five home runs. The Clearwater Threshers currently lead the Florida State League West Division with a 9-6 record, largely thanks to Escobar and Tait excelling. Escobar is playing at his highest minor league level yet. Previously, he spent the last three seasons between the Dominican Summer League and the Florida Complex League.
