The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled right-hander Noah Davis Friday to bolster the bullpen ahead of the series opener with the Texas Rangers.

Bobby Miller was optioned Thursday, so Davis getting called up is the corresponding move. With Oklahoma City this season, Davis has a 7.94 ERA with nine strikeouts across 5.2 innings pitched.

The Dodgers acquired Davis just hours ahead of Opening Day from the Boston Red Sox in exchange for cash.

Davis, 27, was an 11th-round pick by the Cincinnati Reds in 2018. He was traded to the Colorado Rockies in 2021, where he made his Major League debut in 2022.

Across three seasons with the Rockies, Davis has a 7.71 ERA with 43 strikeouts and 23 walks across 51.1 innings.

This offseason, Davis joined the Red Sox on a minor league deal. He logged a 4.82 ERA across 9.1 innings pitched in spring training. When he arrived to L.A., he was acquired as bullpen depth but injuries have provided Davis an opportunity with the defending champions.

After reporting to Triple-A Oklahoma City at the start of the season, Davis will get his chance to shine coming out of the Dodgers’ bullpen.
