Steph Curry Made NBA History on Sunday

The Golden State Warriors’ new trio of Steph Curry, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green has shown its potential in their first six games with a 5-1 record.

On Sunday, they were back in action against Kyrie Irving and the Dallas Mavericks, a team that also made a big trade by sending Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers for Anthony Davis (who is reportedly out  at least two more weeks with a left adductor strain) in a three-team deal. The Mavs have been the only team to defeat the new-look Warriors, walking away with a 111-107 win on Wednesday.

Entering the game, Curry had made 8,450 career field goals, good for 34th all-time, just four behind Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade (8,454) for 33rd.

With 4:07 remaining in the second quarter against Dallas, Curry hit a 4-foot 2-pointer off a Green assist, marking his fifth basket of the day and 8,455th of his career. In doing so, Curry has now passed Wade for 33rd on the all-time field goals made list.

The Warriors announced the news with a post on X.

“KEEP ‘EM COMING.   has passed Dwyane Wade for 33rd most made field goals in NBA history,” the account wrote.

NBA fans were impressed with Curry’s latest accomplishment, taking to social media to leave their thoughts.

“Stephen can go further in goals and will register more records,” one fan said.

“He does not know when to stop. Great guy,” added another.

    “Greatness@StephenCurry30@DwyaneWade,” wrote a third.

    “GOAT,” commented a fourth.

Curry now trails Philadelphia 76ers legends Allen Iverson (8,467) and Hal Greer (8,504) for 32nd and 31st on the NBA’s all-time field goals made list, respectively. Kareem Abdul-Jaabar still holds the record for most field goals made with 15,837, one of the few records LeBron James (15,320) has not broken.

Following the Mavericks game, the Warriors will remain at home for a battle against LaMelo Ball and the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday. They will then hit the road for a five-game east coast road trip starting Thursday.
