Lexington, KY – In a move that has sent shockwaves of excitement throughout the Big Blue Nation, Kentucky legend Terrence Jones has announced his return to the University of Kentucky as a Special Advisor to Basketball Operations.

Jones, a key member of the Wildcats’ 2012 National Championship team, brings with him a wealth of NBA experience, having played for the Houston Rockets, New Orleans Pelicans, and Milwaukee Bucks. His return to Lexington marks a triumphant homecoming for the talented forward, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in Kentucky basketball history.

“We are thrilled to welcome Terrence back to the Big Blue Nation,” said UK Head Coach John Calipari. “His experience and expertise will be invaluable assets to our program, and we’re excited to have him on board.”

As Special Advisor to Basketball Operations, Jones will work closely with Coach Calipari and the UK staff to provide guidance and support in all aspects of the program. His responsibilities will include mentoring players, assisting with recruiting, and helping to develop the team’s overall strategy.

Jones’ return to Kentucky is a testament to the strong bonds he formed during his time in Lexington. A native of Portland, Oregon, Jones was recruited to UK by Coach Calipari and quickly became a fan favorite due to his dominant play and charismatic personality.

“I’m honored to be back at the University of Kentucky, where my basketball journey truly began,” said Jones. “I’m excited to give back to the program and help shape the next generation of Wildcats. It’s a dream come true to be back in the BBN!”

Jones’ NBA career spanned six seasons, during which he averaged 10.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game. He was a key contributor to the Rockets’ playoff runs in 2013 and 2014, and his experience playing at the highest level will undoubtedly benefit the UK program.

The Big Blue Nation is ecstatic about Jones’ return, and his presence is expected to have a significant impact on the team’s success. With his expertise and guidance, the Wildcats are poised to make another deep run in the NCAA Tournament.
