The Los Angeles Lakers should do everything they can to appease LeBron James and Anthony Davis this season.

Acquiring a demoted Phoenix Suns star could be a step in the right direction for Los Angeles.

“The Lakers land (Bradley) Beal to form a star trio with LeBron James and Anthony Davis, bolstering their offensive firepower,” Fadeaway World’s Eddie Bitar wrote Wednesday.

“Beal’s season averages of 18.1 points and 3.2 assists per game show his ability to thrive as a scorer and secondary playmaker, making him a valuable addition.”

“With LeBron and AD as the focal points (with Austin Reaves adding 18.4 points per game as the third option), Beal would face less defensive pressure, potentially increasing his efficiency.”

“Losing role players like Rui Hachimura and Max Christie is a hit, but for the Lakers, acquiring Beal is about maximizing their championship window.”

“Phoenix’s return focuses on depth, with players like Hachimura (12.1 points per game on 48.2% shooting) and Christie offering long-term potential.

“Jarred Vanderbilt adds defensive versatility when healthy, and Jalen Hood-Schifino provides a developing guard who could contribute in the future.

“This trade bolsters Phoenix’s bench while giving them more flexibility, particularly if (Kevin) Durant or (Devin) Booker misses time.”

“For the Lakers, this trade comes down to risk versus reward. They sacrifice depth and youth for a shot at a championship, while the Suns gain the role players needed to build a more balanced roster.”

“However, it’s a gamble for Phoenix, as they’d lose a proven scorer in Beal for a collection of unproven talent.”

In Bitar’s trade proposal, the Lakers would send Hachimura, Gabe Vincent, Vanderbilt, Christie, and Jalen Hood-Schifino to the Suns for Beal and two future second-round picks.

Beal is a solid No. 3 scoring option for Mike Budenholzer and the Suns, but he hasn’t proven to be an asset capable of impacting winning at a high level.

If Durant and/or Booker were forced to miss significant time with an injury, there’s no guarantee Beal would elevate his play and pick up the slack in Phoenix on the offensive end.

Before the Suns’ Monday night contest against the Philadelphia 76ers, Budenholzer pulled Beal from the starting lineup and slightly altered his role with the team.

With the Lakers, however, perhaps Beal would change his ways and show he could pull his weight on a team that would do anything to land a reliable third star.

Time will tell if the Lakers complete a blockbuster trade for Beal.
