The Houston Astros continued their streak of postseason appearances in 2024 to eight straight seasons after finishing with a record of 88-73 and winning the American League West.

Although the Astros made the postseason, they made a quick exit after getting swept in the wild-card round by the Detroit Tigers.

The offseason has been questionable by most people’s standards for the Astros as they traded their star outfielder Kyle Tucker to the Chicago Cubs and have not signed third baseman Alex Bregman, at least as of yet.

MLB Analyst Chandler Rome revealed his thoughts on how the rest of the offseason will look for the Astros.

“I don’t expect any more significant big-dollar additions to this team,” Rome said via Foul Territory on ‘X.’

The Astros did sign first baseman Christian Walker from the Arizona Diamondbacks to a three-year deal, but Rome doesn’t believe the team will make any more significant signings.

Rome notes the luxury tax as the main reason for the Astros avoiding spending a bunch more money, so Bregman coming back is seeming more and more unlikely.

If Bregman doesn’t return, newly acquired third baseman Isaac Paredes from the Cubs will likely patrol the position in 2025.

The Astros have been one of the MLB’s best teams in recent history as they made seven consecutive National League Championship Series appearances before losing in the wild-card round in 2024.

Some fans believe the years of the Astros dominance could be over, but two World Series titles in eight years is not too bad if their run is indeed over.
