The New York Mets have put together a great offseason after reaching the National League Championship Series last season. They could add another superstar next winter after bringing Juan Soto to Queens this offseason.

The Mets signed Soto to a 15-year, $765 million deal. they are trying to sign Pete Alonso but seem unwilling to commit to him long-term. If Alonso leaves, they will surely be involved in the market for Vladimir Guerrero Jr. However, suggested the team could target Kyle Tucker instead of Guerrero.

Tucker was traded from the Houston Astros to the Chicago Cubs this offseason. He will be a free agent after the season and is expected to sign a lucrative deal.  projects him to sign a seven-year, $195 million deal next winter.

Tucker is one of the best offensive outfielders in the league. He is a three-time All-Star and has an .870 career OPS. He has 125 career home runs. Last season, he hit 23 home runs in just 78 games. He was on pace to set a career-high in home runs.

Pairing Tucker and Soto for the future would give the Mets two elite offensive outfielders. Tucker has also won a Gold Glove. Mets’ owner Steve Cohen does not seem limited by money like other franchises. If the Mets truly want Tucker, they’ll be able to make him a great offer.

Additionally, if the Mets are not interested in Guerrero, they could strike a deal with Tucker while other teams are occupied with the Guerrero sweepstakes.
