The Los Angeles Dodgers have released infielder Andre Lipcius after one year with the organization, per his transaction log on MLB.com.

Lipcius, 26, joined the Dodgers in March via a trade with the Detroit Tigers. He spent the entire 2024 season in Triple-A Oklahoma City, where he played well, slashing .271/.351/.458 across 140 games. Lipcius hit 25 home runs, drove in 89 RBIs, and struck out 145 times.

While Lipcius never got a call-up to the Dodgers, there was plenty of times throughout the year where fans were clamoring for him to get a shot. However, he ended up spending the entire 2024 season in Triple-A, and is now heading back to the free agent market.

Lipcius was selected in the third round of the 2019 MLB Draft by the Detroit Tigers. He worked his way up through the minors, and had a small cup of coffee in the major leagues in 2023. Across 13 games, Lipcius slashed .286/.342/.400 with one home run and four runs batted in.

Lipcius plauyed exclusively third base at the MLB level. However, last year in Triple-A, he played all over the field, with 93 games at first base, 19 games at third base, 11 games at second base, and one game in left field. He was also the designated hitter for 16 games.

Lipcius will hope his versatility and power bat help him land a job with an MLB call-up next season. While he made a big impact at Oklahoma City, he’ll hope his next opportunity comes with some MLB at-bats.
