Golden State is playing around with a 12-man rotation right now while looking for trades behind closed doors that could bring Stephen Curry back within view of a fifth ring.

Expect the Warriors to be linked to dozens of players before February’s trade deadline, including surprising names like Ben Simmons, Kyle Kuzma, Kevin Durant, and even Kawhi Leonard.

Golden State will also be active in next summer’s free agent market. One under-the-radar player to watch in connection to the Warriors is Toronto Raptors point guard Davion Mitchell, who was linked to Golden State in a recent report by Bleacher Report’s Eric Pincus.

“Davion Mitchell is a feisty defensive guard who improved to 36.1 percent from three-point range last season with the Sacramento Kings,” Pincus said.

“Since being traded to Toronto, Mitchell must continue improving as a shooter while backing up Immanuel Quickley.”

“If so, Mitchell could get a contract similar to Jose Alvarado’s with the New Orleans Pelicans ($9 million/two years) or Jaden Hardy’s with the Dallas Mavericks ($18 million/three years.”

“Potential Landing Spots: Atlanta Hawks, Brooklyn Nets, Charlotte Hornets, Golden State Warriors, Memphis Grizzlies, Miami Heat, Philadelphia 76ers, Washington Wizards, Toronto Raptors.”

Mitchell is in the final year of his four-year, $20.9 million rookie deal. Pincus projected his next contract at around $10 million over two years, with a team option in year two.

Mitchell was selected with the No. 9 overall pick in the 2021 NBA draft by the Kings. He has career averages of 7.5 points and 2.5 assists in 231 regular season games.
