Rob Edwards’ verdict on West Ham approach is a welcome response to those who criticise Nuno

Indeed, for a team who are so often said to be too defensive under Nuno Espirito Santo, it was their intense pressure that helped secure a statement victory at the London Stadium.
Edwards admitted as much.
Edwards suggests that West Ham were ruthless against Wolves
Speaking to BBC Sport after the game, Edwards said: “They latched onto our mistakes and then the game is done. You give them credit but it is poor from us.”
When West Ham emerged the half time break only one goal ahead – scored ever so slightly against the run of play through Konstantinos Mavropanos – it would have been natural to feel nervous.
This is a team, after all, who have thrown away so many points from winning positions this season.
Have you ever seen a turnaroud as dramatic as Dinos? ⚽ ⚽ 🇬🇷

He has been a revelation since he teamed up with disasi. I credit disasi for making Dino feel secure and his confidence and decision making has improved a lot.
Same here! I don’t think we were wrong to thank that to be fair, but what a turnaround!
Still, Nuno did not go defensive too early. Both of the goals scored by Castellanos came about after West Ham pressed Wolves on the front foot, winning the ball back in dangerous areas before countering.
They forced the issue, and created their own luck.
That really isn’t something that can be said about West Ham all that often this season, so it’s pleasing to hear Edwards’ comments.

The worst thing that West Ham could have done is sit back and try to maintain their one-goal lead. Though they have two excellent centre-backs right now, it’s a plan that is laced with risk.
They didn’t do that here and were duly rewarded for such a front-footed approach. Hopefully, that continues into the last six games of the season.
