However, Danny Rohl says that Sterling misses the game due to the astro surface at the Falkirk stadium, and not injury. Rohl told RangersTV, “Dujon can’t play on astroturf, it’s not possible.”

Sterling has been in impressive form since the turn of the year and was awarded man of the match last time out against Dundee United, a game in which he scored his first league goal for the club.

Rohl has named his line-up, making four changes from the side that started against Dundee United last Saturday.

Sterling, John Souttar, Andreas Skov Olsen, and Ryan Naderi drop out, as James Tavernier, Manny Fernandez, Djeidi Gassama, and Youssef Chermiti all get the nod.

Rangers are yet to beat Falkirk this season, having twice drawn 1-1 against the Bairns. The last time they travelled here was Russell Martin’s final game as Rangers manager.

Meanwhile, Rohl has opened up on the ‘challenges’ his family faces, amid his work in Glasgow.

The Rangers head coach has been based in the UK for his last two jobs, taking charge of both the Ibrox side and Sheffield Wednesday in England.

Despite this, his wife and two sons are still located in Germany, with the two boys still enrolled in school at the ages of six and 12, respectively “My job is a big challenge for our family,” he said. [Scottish Sun]

“I’ve only seen my children four or five times a year since autumn 2023. We see each other at Christmas, once in February during the school holidays, and then again at Easter. But we wanted it this way, a consistent home base.

“The children should be able to go to school in one place and not have to move to a different city every few years. I can move around the city completely freely, go to restaurants without being recognized, or accompany my children to their football matches.

“They actually think it’s great that I’m with Rangers — because ever since then, I’ve been listed as a manager in the FIFA video game.”
