Pablo Felipe responds to West Ham critics at exactly the right time
Pablo Felipe has responded to his West Ham critics just when they needed him most.
After making a positive – if slightly unconvincing – impression during his first few games for West Ham United, the January signing has endured criticism of late.
Indeed, Pablo did not play well for West Ham against Leeds in the FA Cup, and the lingering question as to why West Ham paid so much to sign him came back to the forefront.

West Ham need a reaction against Wolves. Not just from Pablo, from the whole. Thankfully, that’s exactly what they got – and Pablo played a big role.
Pablo’s impressive stats for West Ham against Wolves after criticism
Pablo played a key role as West Ham beat Wolves 4-0 on Friday to briefly pull themselves out of the relegation zone.
It was his brilliant flick that set-up strike partner Taty Castellanos for the crucial second goal on the night, which took the game away from Wolves and all-but secured three vital points for the Irons.
As per FotMob data, the 22-year-old’s statistics make for impressive reading.

I like what I see but I’m not sure it has fully clicked just yet…

He created two chances on the night, one of which was from a glorious flick that freed Castellanos.
The forward won half of his ground duels and played a big role off the ball too. In total, he made ten defensive contributions, which included five tackles and three ball recoveries.
The only thing missing was that elusive first goal while clad in claret and blue, although Nuno Espirito Santo thinks that may change soon.
There is clearly still a long way to go and nothing has yet been achieved but it was promising to see Pablo rise to the challenge of responding in such a crucial game.
