Ex-Arsenal man Dinos Mavropanos hands Roberto De Zerbi early Spurs problem with crucial West Ham goals

Dinos Mavropanos has just handed Roberto De Zerbi a major problem before his first game as Tottenham manager.

Mavropanos scored twice as West Ham defeated Wolves 4-0 in an excellent performance at the London Stadium.

The ex-Arsenal defender has helped lift the Hammers out of the Premier League relegation zone and made alarm bells ring at Spurs.

Assuming West Ham stay up, would you rather see Arsenal bottle the league or Tottenham go down? 🤔

Tell us why in the comments… 👇

Dinos Mavropanos haunts Spurs with West Ham brace vs Wolves

Mavropanos scored the opening goal against Wolves with a bullet header from an inviting Jarrod Bowen cross.

The centre-back then scored his second goal of the night and West Ham’s fourth with seven minutes to go before full-time.

It was not only a crucial three points for the Hammers, but also put them two points clear of Tottenham in the table.

The North London club are now in the relegation zone for the first time this season, ahead of De Zerbi’s debut as their new manager.

    MORE WEST HAM STORIES

In fact, Spurs have not been in the bottom three – outside of the opening three games of the season – since 17 January, 2009.

This will put even more pressure on the Italian boss and his players as they head into a challenging away game at Sunderland.

Arsenal fans will also have enjoyed Mavropanos’ goals, given that they have increased Tottenham’s chances of going down.

The Gunners do not normally wish West Ham well, but they certainly will for the last six games of the 2025/26 season.
