Filipe Sousa tips Jens Hjerto-Dahl for big things
Youth football expert Sousa has highly touted Hjerto-Dahl as a standout modern midfielder who blends elite physical presence with technical refinement.
Standing at 6ft 3in, the Norwegian is an aerial threat, covering significant ground as he’s got an engine on him.
However, his primary strength lies in his composure and intelligence during the build up.
Operating as a deep-lying anchor, the 20-year-old dictates the tempo through clean distribution and constant availability.
He excels at reading the game defensively by utilising his long stride to intercept passes and recover quickly without overcommitting.
Unlike traditional physical enforcers, he remains fluid and coordinated in tight spaces, showing remarkable comfort when turning under pressure.

Sousa highlights his ability to progress play through both vertical passing and powerful carries.
Ultimately, Hjerto-Dahl fits the profile of a high-level holding midfielder, balancing defensive solidity with elite ball progression, something that the Ibrox outfit are looking for.
Via X, the Rising Stars XI account holder wrote: “Jens Hjerto-Dahl is a modern central midfielder who combines outstanding physical presence with composure and technical ability on the ball.
“He operates mainly as a deep-lying midfielder, constantly offering himself as a passing option and helping dictate tempo with simple but effective distribution.
“Defensively, he reads the game well, positioning himself to intercept passes and break up opposition attacks without needing to overcommit. His long stride and mobility allow him to recover quickly and transition from defence to attack with ease.
“His profile fits the modern holding midfielder role — balancing defensive solidity with ball progression — and he has the tools to develop into a high-level midfield anchor in European football.
“Remember the name.”

How Rangers can look to navigate the signing of Hjerto-Dahl
While Rangers would love to sign the Norwegian midfielder, they will face stiff competition to secure his services.
West Ham, who are currently in the Premier League, have been linked with a move, while Hamburg, Sporting CP and Benfica are also said to be keen on the 20-year-old.
He may be offered better wages there and the chance to play in the Champions League if he does end up moving.
Rangers could also offer Champions League football, but they still have to qualify for the league phase, and for that, they will need to win the title.
If they want to sign Hjerto-Dahl, they will have to guarantee him regular game time and also be aware that he could use them as a stepping stone.
