Mavropanos’ performance is the best by a West Ham defender since… ?

It was another stoic defensive display from the Irons, and the likes of Mads Hermansen impressed.
Still, special mention was paid to the imperious Konstantinos Mavropanos.
Above all others, Mavropanos stood out. The Greek was brilliant from a defensive standpoint, while it was his goal that earned West Ham the crucial point.
Hammers News subscribers have been purring about him ever since.

Mavropanos wins Man of the Match Award with Hammers News
Not long after the full-time whistle, the website asked its subscribers on TalkingPoints to vote for their Man of the Match.
Unsurprisingly, Mavropanos amassed most of the vote.
He claimed 83.8% of it, while the aforementioned Hermansen won 13.99% too.
The Irons formed a brilliant unit to shut the likes of Erling Haaland out, with City’s goal little more than a fluke. Bernardo Silva, talented as he is, surely couldn’t catch a goalkeeper as good as Hermansen out from that angle again if he tried.
