Ally McCoist ‘staggered’ by Tomas Soucek reveal in West Ham vs Brentford

Ally McCoist was left stunned amid a new Tomas Soucek reveal in West Ham’s clash with Brentford on Monday.
The Hammers were looking to get through to the FA Cup quarter-finals against the Bees in a welcome distraction from their relegation struggle.
The London Stadium clash on 9 March is a chance for Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side to bring some positivity to a wholly negative campaign so far.
West Ham will face Leeds if they get past Keith Andrews side, and Soucek will prove a crucial asset as they try to do just that.

What could McCoist not believe about Soucek?
Soucek has scored 46 goals for West Ham in 273 appearances, but he has never scored one in the FA Cup, which left McCoist staggered.
His TNT Sports co-host Darren Fletcher revealed the fact live on air, and the former Scotland international could not believe it.

Speaking on 9 March (19:40 pm), he said: “That staggers me, that does surprise me, you think of the important goals that he has scored.”
Why West Ham fans will want Soucek to save his goals
The Hammers need Soucek to be in his typical goalscoring form in the run-in, as he could be a huge difference-maker.
At his best, the Czech international is capable of hammering home a header or arriving late in the box to finish, and his last goal came in the 5-2 loss to Liverpool in February.
He has notched a total of five goals in 29 appearances this season, which is not a bad return for a defensive midfielder, who primarily focuses on keeping the goal safe.
Irons’ supporters would rather he saved it for the league campaign, rather than the cup, as they will not want to be relegated to the Championship.
If he could turn it on in the cup and put the Hammers beyond doubt as they lead 2-1 at the break, it would be a boost, but it would not be as important as one in the league.
If he can come up with a few strikes in the league, it may well be the difference between survival and dropping down to the second tier.
The East Londoners are currently just one point away from safety with nine matches left to play in the top-flight, so there is a lot to play for.
