Chris Jack issues Rabbi Matondo update ahead of Rangers vs Celtic Scottish Cup quarter-final
Rabbi Matondo has been a fringe player for Rangers this season, having battled form and fitness issues.
The Welshman last featured for the Gers in the league nearly two months ago, playing one minute off the bench in the 2-0 win against Aberdeen.
In the Scottish Cup, Matondo did feature more recently, playing 29 minutes in the 8-0 demolition of Queen’s Park.

Chris Jack does not see Rabbi Matondo featuring vs Celtic
Jack was part of the live stream on Rangers Review’s YouTube channel on Thursday morning, where he and Derek Clark were previewing the game on Sunday.
After the 2-2 draw against Celtic in the Scottish Premiership, a change in system and personnel could be in the offing for Danny Rohl.
However, one player whom Jack does not expect to get any game time is Matondo.

In his view, the 25-year-old is miles away from being what the Bears need currently.
The Welshman is also facing an uncertain future at the club with his deal running out at the end of the season.
Jack said: “Unless there’s an injury crisis in one of the Bear outfits before the match, I don’t think we’ll see Rabbi getting a kick.
“For me, he is miles and miles outside of what Rangers need right now.”

Rabbi Matondo appears all set to leave Rangers
As mentioned, Matondo is in the final few months of his deal at Ibrox and is completely out of favour.
He didn’t even make the matchday squad post 25 January in the league, showing just how low he is on Rohl’s pecking order.
It seemed that Rangers were planning to terminate Matondo’s deal, which would see him sealing an out-of-window exit, but that does not appear to be on the cards anymore.
However, even though he will be on the books until June, there seems to be no incentive to hand him a new contract at Ibrox.
Despite his age, his performances have been underwhelming and he cannot be relied upon to stay fit either.
He also struggled out on loan, so it does not make any sense for Rangers to offer him a new deal.
